On March 8, police responded to a call for a shooting at a residence on the 700 block of North Arthur. Two victims, 48-year-old Leroy Junior Briscoe and 54-year-old Jimmy Earl Jones were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested 17-year-old Chance Thonghuene Jones in the 700 block of Pierce street. He was booked in Potter County Detention Center on 1st degree aggravated assault charges.
Briscoe died of his injuries on March 11 and Jones on March 17, and Capital Murder charges were filed against the 17-year-old. Thonghoune Jones has been found incompetent to stand trial and thus has had his murder charges dismissed.
He remains in Potter County pending disposition on lesser charges of Aggravated Assault.
