DETAILS: Amarillo Police Narcotics officers served a search warrant on Monday, January 3, in the 800 block of S. Mississippi. During the service of this search warrant, officers seized 9.5 lbs of methamphetamine, 3 lbs of marijuana, 4.3 grams of crack cocaine and 1 assault rifle.

Officers also made 2 arrests from this search warrant. Sammy Barrow Jr, 01-12-72, and Narvella Mitchell, 04-26-81. Both were charged with Possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute 500 grams or more, and these were filed at the federal level because it fell into our PSN(Project safe neighborhood) zone.

There are more potential charges that could be filed in this case. The Amarillo PD narcotics unit is still investigating.
