AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) —
One man is in jail after leading police on a pursuit for more than an hour throughout Amarillo after evading a traffic stop on Friday morning.
According to the Amarillo Police Department, at 11:27 a.m., officers attempted to stop a vehicle at Interstate 40 and Mirror Street. The driver of the vehicle was believed to be a wanted subject.
The driver refused to stop for officers and fled from them throughout several parts of Amarillo.
Eventually, the man stopped, got out of the vehicle and began running from police in the area of southeast 6th Avenue and Roberts Street.
Cayetano Vela Medrano, 29, was arrested for a parole violation at 12:41 p.m.
Medrano was booked into the Potter County Detention Center.
