An Amarillo woman tied to the ongoing investigation has been arrested.

In a statement, Sgt. Cindy Barkley reports Xiaoyao Wang, 52, was arrested and charged with money laundering and aggravated promotion of prostitution. Both charges are first-degree felonies. Wang was booked into the Randall County Jail.

We’re told today’s events are part of a two-year investigation involving Texas Department of Public Safety, Homeland Security Investigation, Amarillo Police Department, Randall County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals, and the Randall County District Attorney’s Office.

Law enforcement agencies are investigating several businesses today.

DPS and other local law enforcement agencies executed search warrants at various massage spas in Amarillo.

Officials report that this is an active ongoing investigation and in order to protect the integrity of the investigation, no other information will be provided at this time.

A statement will be issued either this evening or tomorrow.
