  1. On January 26, 2018, members of the Randall County Sheriff's Department and the Potter County Sheriff's department executed a narcotics search warrant on the defendant's shop located at 1313 SW 15th Avenue, Potter County, Texas. Prior to the execution of the search warrant, Christopher David Keen was observed driving from his residence in Amarillo, Texas. A traffic stop was initiated on Keen's vehicle, and he was detained for driving while his license was suspended. Keen was advised that Agents had a search warrant for his shop, which is separate from the defendant's residence. Keen asked officers to use his key to open the shop so that Agents would not damage the door. Keen produced a set of keys, and he told officers what each key opened. One key opened the shop door, and one key was to a blue Ford Mustang, which was parked inside the shop. There was a small key on the keychain. Keen claimed that he did not know what that small key opened.

  2. Agents executed the search warrant. During the execution of the warrant, Agents located a file cabinet. The small key on Keen's keychain opened the file cabinet. Inside the cabinet, Agents located financial documents belonging to Keen and a loaded Taurus 9mm pistol.

  3. Keen admits that he knowingly possessed the Forjas Taurus, Model 709 Slim, 9mm caliber pistol, serial number TIW91248.

  4. Further investigation revealed that before Keen possessed the firearm, he had been convicted in a court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term in excess of one year.
