Pampa murder trial set to begin

Jury selection began today in the 2008 death of Pampa man.

Juan Daniel Cano, 28, is accused of murder in the Sept. 27, 2008 shooting of 19-year-old Carlos Hernandez.

Police responded about 1:15 a.m. to a shooting in a mobile home park in the 400 block of Perry Street, where they found Hernandez on the floor with a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said.

Paramedics transported Hernandez to a  hospital, but he died two days later. Investigators at the scene recovered a .22-caliber rifle they believe was used in the shooting.
