A Potter County jury sentenced a man to two years' probation Wednesday for intentionally engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse with a family member, according to court records.
The jury in the 320th District Court convicted Vidal Brian Perez, 23, on one count of prohibited sexual conduct for "knowingly engaging in sexual intercourse" with his relative on or about Feb. 26, 2011, records show.
A grand jury last month indicted Perez on the charge, a third-degree felony with a sentence range of two to 10 years in prison.
The jury acquitted Perez on one count of sexual assault, a second-degree felony punishable by two to 20 years in prison. A grand jury indicted him June 15 on that charge, which alleged he sexually assaulted the victim Feb. 26, 2011, the indictment said.
