A preliminary autopsy showed a man whose body was found in the backyard of an AutoZone died from complications from an illness, authorities said.
The store's groundskeeper stumbled upon the body in a fenced area behind the AutoZone at 612 E. Amarillo Blvd.
The Potter-Randall Special Crimes Unit investigated the death because of the initially suspicious circumstances surrounding the matter, said unit Coordinator Lt. Erick Bohannon.
He said while the man has been identified, investigators have not been able to reach his next-of-kin.
The groundskeeper said the man was lying face down on the ground with one arm partially covering his face and his other arm by his side.
The groundskeeper picked up a bin to collect trash in the yard, when she turned around and discovered the body, she said.
