An elderly couple and a grown daughter were shot to death and another grown daughter was critically wounded Saturday morning in an Amarillo neighborhood.
Pedro Robledo, 71, was found dead of gunshot wounds in a vehicle in the driveway of his home. His wife, Maria Manuela Robledo, 72, was found dead in the living room, according to an Amarillo Police Department release.
"You should've heard the screaming. It was so loud. Everybody was screaming," said Maria Renteria, 66, who lives a few houses down and said the couple's two daughters were also shot.
Maria Fabiana Robledo, 31, was taken to a hospital, where she died of a gunshot wound, the release said.
Guadalupe Fabiana Robledo, 32, was taken to Northwest Texas Health Care System, where she was in critical condition after surgery.
A man neighbors said was the couple's son, 38-year-old Socorro Robledo, was fired at but not hit, police said. Also unharmed was a 2-year-old baby in the house.
Renteria said her husband was leaving their house on an errand about 9:45 a.m. Saturday when he heard five gunshots.
"He said, 'Those are not fireworks; those are gunshots,'" she said. She said her husband saw one of the daughters run bleeding into a neighbor's house, and he flagged a nearby patrol car for help.
Jimmie Lucero, 45, whom neighbors said lives next door, was arrested after he turned himself in about 2:30 p.m. Saturday, police said. Neighbors told the Amarillo Globe-News for Sunday's editions that Lucero had been feuding with the Robledos.
Police said Lucero was booked into Potter County Detention Center, pending filing of charges on Monday.
