AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Amarillo fire crews responded to three more fires on Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

1100 N Mississippi

Crews went to the first fire around 5:12 p.m. at a homeless camp near the 1100 block of North Mississippi.

There, they found the camp "fully involved" with both flames and smoke showing.

AFD said crews put out multiple fires across the camp burning everything from furniture to garbage.

Crews said they found the origin of the burn, a field just north of NW 11th.

However, crews said that there were multiple potential causes, so it was officially ruled undetermined.

1910 S Madison

Another fire sparked Tuesday, this time in an attached garage.

Fire crews said just before 7 p.m., they went to the 1900 block of S Madison.

There they found flames showing on the back side of the property on the garage's exterior.

Firefighters stopped the fire before it spread to any other structures.

3500 Eula

Wednesday morning, crews went to another house fire on the 3500 block of Eula, just after 6:30 a.m.

They found flames and smoke on the front of a mobile home there.

The occupant of the home was outside when crews got there, and a search revealed nobody else inside.

Crews said the fire was under control in less than twenty minutes.

Nobody was hurt, and the fire marshal eventually determined the cause to be a space heater left on overnight.

The Red Cross is assisting the occupant.
