UPDATE: 6:57 p. m. Amarillo police have provided more information on Wednesday morning's fatal shooting on Trigg Street. According to the Amarillo Police Department, officers responded to a medical call just before 8 a. m. in the 1100 block of Trigg Street where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers attempted lifesaving measures when they found the victim but were unsuccessful in their efforts. The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Carlos Felipe Ruiz.


AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — UPDATE: 6:57 p.m.

Amarillo police have provided more information on Wednesday morning's fatal shooting on Trigg Street.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, officers responded to a medical call just before 8 a.m. in the 1100 block of Trigg Street where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers attempted lifesaving measures when they found the victim but were unsuccessful in their efforts.

The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Carlos Felipe Ruiz.

A man is dead after Amarillo police said they found him with a gunshot wound Wednesday morning.

Just before 8 a.m., police said got a medical call at the 1100 block of Trigg Street - which police later said they found out was a gunshot incident.

At the scene, officers said they found a man with a gunshot wound.

He ultimately died at the scene.

Homicide investigators are still looking into the incident.
