AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — An Oklahoma man is charged with murder after Amarillo police said he shot his girlfriend in the parking lot of Texas Roadhouse.

The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Mendoza was rushed to the hospital where she died.

After the shooting, Amarillo police issued an AMBER Alert for a five and eight-year-old girl believed to have been abducted by Rodriguez.

The AMBER Alert was canceled around 3:30 a.m. after Rodriguez was arrested in Hereford.

Cathlina King was eating dinner at Texas Roadhouse with her kids when the shooting happened.

Their table was next to the a window overlooking the parking lot.

"I came to eat at Texas Roadhouse with the kids and someone was just shot in the parking lot right outside the window where we are sitting," said King on Facebook.

King said they did not see or hear the shooting.

"It was so loud in there, we did not (hear it), but we saw it right after it happened," King told ABC 7. "It was scary at first because a bullet could have easily come through a window."

She shot video of the aftermath through the blinds.

"This isn’t the Amarillo I moved to," King said. "Maybe we all need to start carrying protection."
