On the afternoon of July 14, police discovered the bodies of Marilyn McDonald Edwards, 46, and her husband Monnie Wayne Edwards, 46, shot to death in the bedroom of the home the couple had shared in Canyon. Police said that Monnie Edwards killed his wife with a high-powered rifle and then turned the weapon on himself. Neighbors said the Edwards had been in the process of getting a divorce prior to the incident.
