Police said on Saturday, Oct. 10 at about 3:42 p. m. , officers were sent to the 100 block of N. Washington Street for a juvenile who had been shot. The juvenile died at the scene from the injury. Officers initially received conflicting information on how the injury occurred and the number of people involved.

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — A juvenile is in jail for the shooting death of another juvenile over the weekend, according to the Amarillo Police Department.

Police said on Saturday, Oct. 10 at about 3:42 p.m., officers were sent to the 100 block of N. Washington Street for a juvenile who had been shot.

The juvenile died at the scene from the injury.

Officers initially received conflicting information on how the injury occurred and the number of people involved.

APD Homicide Detectives, Juvenile Detectives and CSI personnel responded to the scene.

Witness information and evidence collected at the scene confirmed that a crime had occurred.

A second juvenile present during the incident was arrested for murder.

The juvenile suspect was booked into the Youth Center of the High Plains.
