At 1:26 p.m., on September 10, 2010, officers were dispatched to Our Lady of Vietnam Catholic Church at 2001 N. Grand on a possible stabbing and death.
When they arrived they were met by a 28-year old male with a stab wound to his leg, who indicated that something had happened in the church.
The officers searched the church and located Dinh Van Pham, 58, in the basement, dead from multiple stab wounds to his upper body.
It was determined that Dinh had volunteered to paint a room in the basement and was attacked while he was painting by the 28-year old man who had greeted officers earlier.
Con Van Pham was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released. Con Pham was later booked into the Potter County jail on a charge of Murder. The weapon used in this homicide was recovered.
Con and Dinh are not related, and it is still unknown why this homicide occurred. Con Van Pham's trial for this murder is pending.
