Amarillo police are investigating an apparent double homicide that happened Monday night at an east Amarillo residence.
Lt. Ed Smith of Potter/Randall Special Crimes said two men were found shot at the house in the 3900 block of East 11th Avenue. The house is in a residential neighborhood several blocks east of the Tri-State Fairgrounds.
"Both of them were shot to death," Smith said. "One was found deceased inside the house."
The other man, who Smith identified as Christopher Ryan Gerber, 27, was taken to Northwest hospital where he died.
Smith said he thought Gerber lived at the house where the shooting happened.
Potter County Justice of the Peace Jim Tipton was called as coroner.
Smith said the man found dead inside the house had no identification so his identity is not yet known.
APD dispatch records showed the initial call on the shooting came at 7:42 pm Monday
"We're talking to some people," for information regarding the shooting, Smiths aid.
"We're just looking for anybody who might have any information, who might have seen a disturbance over in that area."
