Brandon Laine Ellyson

  1. On January 11,2018 Amarillo Police Department (APD) Narcotics Agent Chris Koval received information Brandon Ellyson was in a possession of a large amount of methamphetamine at his residence located at 2907 S. Hill, Amarillo, Texas. As Agent Koval was working to obtained a search warrant for Ellyson's residence, APD Officer Mike Williams detained Ellyson in the driveway of the residence.

  2. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Task Force Officers Randy Mincher and Bill Brown made contact with Ellyson at his residence. Ellyson was read his Miranda warnings by Agent Mincher prior to being questioned. During questioning, Ellyson admitted to having several pounds of methamphetamine and several firearms in the southeast bedroom of the residence.

  3. Once a search warrant was obtained, a search of Ellyson's residence was conducted. During the search, a large amount of a crystalline substance was located in the southeast bedroom of the residence. The crystalline substance was field tested, and it tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine. Several firearms were located in the southeast bedroom as well.
