AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Update at 1:56 p.m. Nov. 27: Melchor James Vences and Brendan Paul Givens were indicted Sept. 12 on a charge of murder in connection with a 2015 homicide, according to grand jury documents from the Potter County clerk.

Vences and Givens were indicted in the Dec. 21, 2015, death of Roberto Guadalupe "Lupe" Vazques, according to the documents.

Two suspects were arrested on Tuesday for the 2015 murder of 27-year-old Roberto Guadalupe Vasquez.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, Special Crimes received information that helped identify the suspects in this homicide. It was learned that there were four suspects in this case, and two were juvenile males, ages 15 and 16, at the time of the murder.

On July 10, directives were issued to apprehend these two suspects. They were both subsequently booked into the Potter County Detention Center that same day.

The adult suspects were both incarcerated in the Randall County jail for unrelated charges and were served the murder warrants while in jail. They were identified as Melchor James Vences, 22, and Brendan Paul Givens, 20. The two men remain in the Randall County Jail at this time.
