UPDATE: 10:30 p.m.
A man wanted on a felony warrant was arrested Tuesday after running a red light and causing a wreck near SW 46th and Parker Street.
According to police, at about 3:40 p.m., officers were sent to a major accident at SW 46th and Parker.
A 29-year-old man driving a 2004 Toyota Matrix ran the red light while driving south on Parker. The Toyota ran into a 2007 Mercury MKX, driven by 58-year-old George Kenneth Ulibarri, that was heading east.
The impact caused the Mercury to hit a resident in the 4600 block of Parker St. After hitting the MKX, the Toyota hit a utility pole and flipped on its side.
The driver of the Toyota was able to get out and run from the scene.
Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Agents had been looking for the driver of the Toyota because he was wanted on a felony assault warrant.
The man in the Toyota was eventually found in a nearby shed and taken into custody.
Ulibarra died on scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Justice of the Peace Clay Houdashell has ordered an autopsy.
The suspect in the Toyota was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He was arrested and charged with his felony warrant, murder and accident causing death.
