By Ron Balaskovitz

Violence following a shooting in north Amarillo on Monday afternoon carried over into Monday night and Tuesday morning, according to Amarillo Police Department.
During the evening and overnight hours, APD responded to several shots-fired calls in the Hamlet area, just north of Hamlet Elementary School.
Officers responded to the 3100 block of Oak Drive for the second time on reports that a car had been set on fire. APD reports said a white Ford Crown Victoria had been shot and then set on fire in front of a home on the street.
APD officers were also called to a shots-fired call three streets over from Oak in the 2400 block of Walnut Drive, where a house had been struck by bullets.
Officers could not confirm whether the incidents were related to the shooting death of Kharyi Terrell Nichols, 25, who was shot in front of a home at 3115 Oak Drive just before 1 p.m. Monday.
