Amarillo's Special Crimes Unit is still investigating the death of a 8 1/2 month old baby who was found not breathing last month.

According to Amarillo police, baby Damian Scott Hayes was "strangled to death." He had injuries to his upper body and died shortly after arriving at the local hospital he was taken to.

The death of baby Damian is the City of Amarillo's only unsolved homicide of 2015, according to APD.

Police said Special Crimes investigators interviewed numerous individuals who had access to Damian both prior to, and at the time of the murder. Special Crimes continues to work closely with the 47th District Attorney's office in an attempt to solve this crime.

"The Special Crimes Unit will use all of its skills, talents, and available technology to solve this murder," said Lt. Erick Bohannon with the Special Crimes Unit.
