AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — The woman accused of sending a 24-year-old man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries following a wreck early New Year's morning has been indicted.

Haiden Noelle Sloan, 22, was indicted in Randall County on Wednesday, Feb. 22. Sloan was arrested in the early morning hours of Jan. 1, after police say she caused a wreck that left Richard Sandoval fighting for his life.

Police said the wreck happened around 5 a.m. on Jan. 1. According to APD, both vehicles had been northbound in the 3000- block of South Washington St. when the front of the Cadillac Sloan was driving struck the back of the Toyota Sandoval was driving. This caused the Toyota to leave the roadway and collide with a vehicle that was parked in a driveway.

Sandoval had to be extracted from the vehicle by firefighters.

According to police, Sloan was found near the intersection of 33rd Avenue and South Washington Street. There, she was detained by officers who determined she was under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested and booked into the Randall County Jail on a charge of Intoxication Assault with a Vehicle.

If convicted, Sloan faces two to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 for the 3rd degree felony charge.

ABC 7 Amarillo reached out to APD in an attempt to get any information on Sandoval's condition. APD said they do not put out updated conditions unless someone dies from their injuries.
