Amarillo police Saturday continued to search for the man who gunned down a 31-year-old in the San Jacinto neighborhood.
Police said when they arrived about 10:20 p.m. Friday, they found Noland Hill Jr., 31, shot multiple times and lying on the front porch of a home at 2712 Center Ave.
Police said after someone shot Hill, another man chased the shooter up the alley, and opened fire on the shooter, who returned fire.
Officers performed CPR on Hill, but he died about 30 minutes later at Northwest Texas Hospital.
An autopsy has been ordered for Monday.
Police said they searched the duplex and found "a large amount" of drugs inside one unit. They also recovered "numerous" shell casings fired from more than one weapon, they said.
