Amador Lujan Lomeli

Witnesses are expected to take the stand today in the murder trial of Amador Lujan Lomeli, the 34-year-old Amarillo man accused of killing another man in a 2007 bar fight, prosecutors said.

Jury selection concluded and prosecution presented several witnesses Monday in the 108th District Court, 47th District Attorney Randall Sims said.

Lomeli is accused of killing Henry H. Hernandez, 54, and wounding Eulogio Garcia during an Aug. 17, 2007, melee at Old Buster's Lounge, 2204 S.E. 27th Ave.

Investigators said Lomeli fired two to six shots into a crowd, killing Hernandez and wounding Garcia.

Lomeli eluded authorities for months. Tips led a SWAT team to a vacant home in Richland Acres where they found a 1998 Cadillac Seville that matched the description of the car Lomeli allegedly had been seen in when the shots were fired.
