Amarillo Police are investigating a fatal shooting that left one person dead Wednesday evening. According to the Amarillo Police Department, officers were called to the 7400 block of Amarillo Boulevard East on a shooting. Officers spoke with a 56-year-old business owner, who said he found a man inside his fenced-in business. The owner yelled at the man inside the fence, and the suspect started walking toward the owner with a Sawzall in his hand.

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Amarillo Police are investigating a fatal shooting that left one person dead Wednesday evening.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, officers were called to the 7400 block of Amarillo Boulevard East on a shooting.

Officers spoke with a 56-year-old business owner, who said he found a man inside his fenced-in business.

The owner yelled at the man inside the fence, and the suspect started walking toward the owner with a Sawzall in his hand.

The owner shot the 33-year-old suspect, who was declared dead at the scene.

The Amarillo Police Department Homicide Unit was called and the investigation is ongoing.
