Man shot, killed in Amarillo last night

One man is dead after suffering a gunshot wound to the upper body last night, Amarillo police said.

The victim was identified as Chad Farner, 39. No other information about Farner was available.

Police were dispatched at 9:42 p.m. to 1910 S. Van Buren St. for a report of a person shot. Farner was found at the scene and transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he died.

Several people were interviewed by officers. No arrests have been made.

An autopsy on Farner will be performed in Lubbock this morning.
