Ex-BPD officer turns himself in
BORGER, TX (KFDA) - A former officer with the Borger Police Department has turned himself over to authorities on an oppression charge.
Aaron McWilliams turned himself into the Hutchinson County Jail Wednesday afternoon following an investigation by police in conjunction with the Texas Rangers. McWilliams was placed on administrative leave April 20 for allegedly using improper force during an incident in March.
He resigned shortly after being placed on leave.
McWilliams obtained the rank of Corporal and had been with the Borger Police Department since 2012.
A warrant for McWilliams's arrest was issued earlier this month for one count of Official Oppression, a Class A misdemeanor. Officials say McWilliams posted bond shortly after turning himself in.
