Tue, 28 Apr 2015 18:56:08 GMT — An Amarillo Family Dollar was robbed on April 27, and police have released pictures of the suspect from the store's surveillance system.

On April 27 just after 9 p.m., APD received a call of a robbery at the Family Dollar, 3460 River Road.

The victim described the robbery suspect as a dark skinned black man in his 20s to 30s of average height, possibly about 200 lbs., wearing black shoes with white soles, blue jeans, and a grey hoodie with black lettering. He also had a white cloth over his face, was carrying a backpack and was armed with what appeared to be a black semi-automatic handgun.

The suspect demanded money from the victim, took an undisclosed amount of cash from the drawer, and left the store. He got into an unknown vehicle and fled south on River Road. The victim was not injured in the incident.
