Dec 1, 1976, Jimmy Paul Vanderbilt Jr. was placed on death row. The former Amarillo police trainee was convicted in the 1975 kidnapping and shooting death of Amarillo High School student Katina Moyer. Moyer was found on a Potter County road with a gunshot wound to her head.
