2000-06-09

On June 9, 2000, officers were sent to the Wagon Wheel motel at 3602 E. Amarillo Blvd. where an ambulance had called in a female who was unresponsive. Upon arrival, officers found that 24-year-old Shamika Scott had been pronounced deceased where she was found in room #27.

In the course of investigating the scene, officers determined that Shamika had been smothered and her death was ruled a homicide. Officers with the APD Homicide Unit state that they have confirmation that Shamika Scott was alive at 11:00 p.m. on June 8th and request the public's assistance in discovering what happened afterwards and who is responsible for her murder.
