The AFD has fought two structure fires so far this weekend.

The first one occurred on Friday night a little after 9 pm. “C” shift extinguished a fully involved abandoned apartment unit at 205 N Madison. (Pictured below)

The next one happened on Saturday night at 9:45 pm at Cathy’s Pointe Apartments. “A” shift Fire crews arrived on scene at 2701 N Grand to find a kitchen fire in one of the units. FF’s had it under control quickly. The occupants made it out safely.
