An Amarillo man was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty this week to intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle.
Leonardo Segura, 53, also must pay a $1,500 fine.
Just after midnight on July 8, 2011, Segura drove a Nissan Murano north on Interstate 27 near McCormick Road, where he struck the back of a motorcycle, state troopers said.
Glenn West, who drove the motorcycle, was thrown from the motorcycle onto the highway shoulder, authorities said.
An ambulance took West to a local hospital, where he later died. He was 68.
Segura had a blood alcohol concentration level of 0.08 - the same as the state's legal limit, court documents said.
A Randall County grand jury indicted Segura on the second-degree felony in September.
