AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — The Special Crimes Unit is investigating a shooting that occurred on Friday that left one man dead in Amarillo.
According to the Amarillo Police Department, officers were sent to the 5000 block of Leigh on a shooting around 2:40 in the afternoon.
Police say officers found a man on the floor of the residence with a gunshot wound to the upper body.
Ambulance personnel arrived and declared the man dead at the scene, according to APD.
The man was identified as 32-year-old Justin Lee Sifuentes.
Justice of the Peace Tracy Byrd ordered an autopsy to be performed Tuesday morning in Lubbock.
Two other people were in the house when officers arrived.
Officials say the circumstances of the shooting were suspicious enough that Special Crimes was called to investigate.
According to police, more information will be available at a later time, as the investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made.
