AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — A 28-year-old Amarillo woman has been indicted by a Potter County Grand jury on a charge of murder.

Desiray Devon Burks faces trial in the shooting death of Garyan Lamont Cain, 26. The indictment was returned June 27.

Cain's body was found at about 9 p.m. on May 5 in the 300 block of Northwest 15th. Potter County Justice of the Peace Debbie Horn declared Cain dead at the scene and ordered an autopsy which was performed May 7 in Lubbock.

According to a May news release from the Amarillo Police Department, Burks was taken into custody during the initial investigation, and booked into Potter County jail.
