Police have released preliminary autopsy results for a man killed at a local nightclub Monday morning that state Lamberto Sifuentes, 57, appears to have died from blunt-force trauma to the upper body.

Potter-Randall Special Crimes Unit Lt. Erick Bohannon said police can now classify the death as a homicide, bringing the city’s total to seven this year.

Police were dispatched to Las Chakalozas Night Club at 1533 S.E. 10th Ave. about 2:10 a.m. after Sifuentes’ son called to report he and his father were beaten with an unknown object and his father was not breathing.

When police reached the nightclub, they said they found the injured son performing CPR on Sifuentes in the parking lot.

Sifuentes was declared dead at the scene by paramedics, police said.

The son was not identified. Police said he was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Potter-Randall Special Crimes Unit is continuing its investigation into the incident. They ask that anyone with information call 806-378-9468.
