Texas Rangers arrested a former West Texas police officer Wednesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a child in 2009, the Texas Department of Public Safety said in a news release.
Corisa Tosh, a 41-year-old former officer for the Borger Police Department, has been charged with sexual assault of a child, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
Tosh was sworn in as a peace officer in May 2013, ABC 7 reported, four years after the alleged incident occurred. She had served as a school resource officer at Paul Belton Elementary School in Borger, according to the news station.

The Texas Rangers began their investigation after police were notified of the allegations against Tosh on April 17. She was fired four days later, the Amarillo Globe-News reported.
Tosh is out of Hutchinson County Jail on a $15,000 bond, according to ABC 7.
