Gonzales was on trial for the murder of Felipe Dejesus Mata.

Mata's car then ended up crashing into a room at the Royal Inn on the boulevard. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

It took Potter County jury only four hours to return the guilty verdict. The punishment phase is currently underway. Gonzales faces 5-99 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
