The Potter-Randall Special Crimes Unit is investigating a shooting that happened inside an east Amarillo house late Wednesday night.

Unit coordinator Lt. Erick Bohannon said at about 1:40 a.m. Thursday he couldn't comment on how many shots were fired, whether anyone was injured or if any arrests had been made after police flocked to 1618 S. Arthur St.

Police received the call at about 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, Bohannon said. By about 11:50 p.m. at least eight Amarillo police vehicles, an ambulance and a fire truck lined both sides of South Arthur Street.

Police put up crime scene tape around the front yard of the house, but traffic was not blocked.

One ambulance left the scene at 11:58 p.m. and was immediately replaced by another. The fire truck left the scene shortly thereafter.

The second ambulance left at 12:15 a.m. Thursday, then Special Crimes investigators arrived at about 12:48 a.m. and went into the house.

Potter-Randall Appraisal District records show the property at 1618 S. Arthur St. is owned by Leroy D. Hernandez.
