On Thursday November 5th at 2:58 AM, APD officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of south Soncy Road on a suspicion call.
Officers were told that a red pick up was driving through a parking lot and the occupants were looking into vehicles.
Officers located the vehicle and detained Robert Walter Allen, a 31-year-old male, Ricky Lee Peebles, a 20-year-old male, and Shayne Corey Boggs, a 29 year-old-male. Officers located multiple items that appeared to be stolen and and a handgun in the vehicle.
Through their investigation, the officers determined that the items in the vehicle had been stolen out a vehicle parked in the parking lot. They were able to return the stolen items to the owners.
The three suspects were arrested. Allen was booked into the Potter County Detention Center for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. Boggs was booked into the Potter County Detention Center for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. Peebles was booked into the Potter County Detention Center for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
APD would like to remind everyone not to leave valuables in your vehicle while unattended. It only takes seconds for a thief to get their hands on them. We would also like to point out that these arrests were made because the suspicious activity was reported to the Department. If you notice suspicious activity report it.
(APD) were called to investigate vehicle burglaries in a hotel parking lot near Amarillo Boulevard and Soncy Road in Amarillo, Texas. Officers approached a vehicle in the hotel parking lot and made contact with Peebles, who was a passenger in the vehicle.
Officers located a Bersa, Model BP40CC, 40 caliber pistol, bearing serial number G58118, under the bench seat of the vehicle. During their investigation, officers learned that Peebles had a prior felony conviction. Peebles was then arrested.
At the jail, Peebles admitted to an officer that the firearm located in the Court records confirmed that before November 5, 2020, Peebles had been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term in excess of one year
