Amarillo police Father, son shot by 2 men who tried to rob them
AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — A father and son were shot by two men who tried to rob them.

According to Amarillo police, officers were dispatched to a shooting around 1:30 a.m. Saturday at the Eddison Apartments.

They found two males with gunshot wounds.

The victims told police that two men tried to rob them.

When the victims refused, the suspects shot one victim.

The other victim then ran towards the suspects and was shot as well.

According to a GoFundMe page set up for the victims, Xander Clark was shot twice in the arm and is being treated at an Amarillo hospital.

His father, Justin, was shot in the leg and lower jaw and was transported to Lubbock.

Justin had surgery to repair his carotid artery and is waiting for a second surgery, according to the post.

"If you know Justin, you know not only is he a great electrician, but he is a great person," said Beth Ann Jones who organized the GoFundMe. "He would literally give the shirt off his own back to help anyone in need. We are coming to you now and asking for help.

"Justin is self-employed and, unfortunately, does not have insurance. His medical bills will be astronomical and without being physically able to continue working, his personal day-to-day needs will not be easily met either. Anything will be greatly appreciated and put towards helping Justin and Zander get through this life-changing tragedy."
