Midland Police recover thousands of dollars' worth of stolen property

The Midland Police Department recovered thousands of dollars' worth of property after making an arrest Monday afternoon.

According to the Midland Police Department officers responded to a shots fired call at 3 p.m. Monday on the 400 block of Crenshaw Drive. When police arrived the suspects had fled the scene, but were identified as 42-year-old Willi Sampson and 46-year-old Clarence Lovell.

Police believed the two men were connected to several residential burglaries. Later that day officers located both Sampson and Lovell at their homes, and took them into custody.

Officers located multiple stolen items in each home, whose total value amounted to thousands of dollars. A handgun police believe was fired at the Crenshaw address was also located.
