On February 12, 2001 about 11:14 p.m., officers were sent to 1410 N. Johnson St. on a shooting. Once there, officers found that Agustine Villalon had been shot in the back with a shotgun. His daughter-in-law had also been shot in the hand and wrist.

Witnesses did describe two suspects as

  1. a Hispanic male 16-20 years of age, 5'6" to 5'7," 120 pounds, thin build, with short wavy hair wearing a white football jersey with tattered numbers and dark trim, and a beanie cap.
  2. A Hispanic male 5'3" to 5' 5," 120 lbs. He was seen wearing a long black trenchcoat and a beanie cap.

We also know that there was at least one other person involved who was waiting in a car north of the residence.
