After incarceration he was taken back to the ER for further treatment.

Offense 1: Warrant for DUI Probation Violation - Wise County, Texas

Lane was found down on the street by a patrol officer. Lane was bleeding from his mouth, nose and hands. Lane smelled strongly of alcoholic beverages and admitted he had been drinking too much. He told responding officers he had wrecked his bicycle and fallen previously. Lane was transported by ambulance to the Emergency Room at Northwest Texas Hospital. He was released after treatment and booked into the Potter County Jail. Witnesses in his cell stated he fell again, striking his head. He began to have seizures. He was transported by ambulance to Northwest Texas Hospital. He received medical treatment and later died.

An autopsy was completed at the Texas Tech Medical Examiner's Office in Lubbock, Texas. Preliminary
results were that Lane had a head injury indicative of a fall. The pathologist stated there were no injuries
which appeared to have been caused by an assault.
