DPS Sr. Trooper Chris Ray says “they’re innocent until proven guilty. We want to make sure we don’t taint anything.”
The Texas Rangers are investigating former Borger Police Officer Corisa Tosh for the alleged sexual assault of a child, and on April 20th, she was fired.
Trooper says, “through the rangers investigation, they determined that something did happen. The ranger was able to obtain a warrant, and then Ms. Tosh was arrested this morning, there in Borger.”
Tosh was hired with the department in May of 2013.
These alleged issues supposedly happened four years earlier in 2009.
It wasn’t until two weeks ago officials at the department found out about it.
Tosh was placed on administrative leave that day.
Trooper Ray says, “give credit to Borger police for realizing something was going on and getting somebody outside of their agency to investigate so that there’s no claims of impropriety or covering anything up.”
We reached out to several different authorities about how Borger police discovered something had happened.
No one would comment.
Trooper Ray tells us the investigation is ongoing.
Tosh was booked into the Hutchinson County Jail on a charge of sexual assault of a child.
Two officers were fired from the department.
Trooper Ray confirmed only former officer Tosh is being investigated.
The Borger Police Department would not comment on why the other officer was fired.
