Police Leads exhausted in man's 1994 death
Police found no signs of a struggle at 1000 N. Harrison St. in February 1994.
They arrived at Willie Marcell Farr's home after his family, who was unable to reach him the day before, alerted authorities that they had found his body.
The 26-year-old suffered multiple gunshot wounds, including in the chest, investigators said at the time.
An autopsy revealed Farr had been dead for 18 to 24 hours before his family found him, and authorities found no weapons in the house.
Farr, a Palo Duro High School graduate, was last seen at on Friday, Feb. 11, 1994 at about 10 p.m. At the time, it was the fourth murder in Amarillo that year.
While all the leads at the time were exhausted, Farr left behind a trail of friends, said Lt. Erick Bohannan, coordinator of the Potter-Randall Special Crimes Unit.
"There were some people who had associations with him, and sometimes they were on good terms, sometimes they weren't," Bohannan said.
