Amarillo Police are investigating after firefighters found two bodies in a residence in the 6200 block of Estacado after putting out a structure fire. According to police, at about 1:56 p. m. , a fire in the 6200 block of Estacado was called in. The Amarillo Fire Department responded and put out the fire and discovered two deceased people. The Amarillo Police Department's Special Crimes Unit is currently investigating to determine a cause of death.

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Amarillo Police are investigating after firefighters found two bodies in a residence in the 6200 block of Estacado after putting out a structure fire.

According to police, at about 1:56 p.m., a fire in the 6200 block of Estacado was called in. The Amarillo Fire Department responded and put out the fire and discovered two deceased people.

The Amarillo Police Department's Special Crimes Unit is currently investigating to determine a cause of death.

After two bodies were found in a southwest Amarillo residence that was reported as a structure, Amarillo Police are now investigating as a murder-suicide. According to police, the initial call was for a structure fire in the 6200 block of Estacado with people trapped inside. Amarillo firefighters entered the residence and located two deceased individuals. One of the individuals were identified as Robby Elsworth Fithen, 45, and the other was Fithen's 12-year-old daughter.

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — After two bodies were found in a southwest Amarillo residence that was reported as a structure, Amarillo Police are now investigating as a murder-suicide.

According to police, the initial call was for a structure fire in the 6200 block of Estacado with people trapped inside. Amarillo firefighters entered the residence and located two deceased individuals.

One of the individuals were identified as Robby Elsworth Fithen, 45, and the other was Fithen's 12-year-old daughter.

Amarillo Police Department Special Crimes investigators determined Fithen shot and killed his daughter and then shot himself. Justice of the Peace Tracy Byrd has ordered an autopsy.

The Special Crimes Unit is still investigating the case.
