Tue, 10 Feb 2015 05:04:49 GMT — After five armed robberies of stores in the span of one week in Amarillo, APD and businesses in the area say theyâ??re concerned.
The first string of robberies occurred on at three Tootâ??n Totems in the span of 24 hours. Police believe the same man committed all three.

"I wouldn't say three robberies in this span of time is normal at all. That's certainly different than what we see," said Sgt. Brent Barbee with the Amarillo Police Department.
Another robbery would later occur in North Amarillo, the most recent one happening last Sunday at a Family Dollar store.

Police say the description of the suspect in the latest incident is different from the others, but the frequency of these events is what has police and local businesses concerned.
"It's really scary,â?? said Brenda Powell, an employee at an area store. "It's especially concerning because I'm working here alone and I don't know what customers will do. I just want them to stop.â??
"At this point, we've been fortunate we have no one injured. We haven't made any arrest on these. The robbery detectives spend a lot of time on these [crimes]," said Barbee.
Anyone with information on these recent robberies is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 806-374-4400.
