Two people are in jail and one more suspect is still at large after a man was hurt in a Sunday afternoon shooting, Amarillo police said Monday. According to a news release, at 1:08 p. m. , offices were called to the parking lot in the 1000 block of southwest 10th Avenue on a shooting. A 20-year-old man had been shot in the upper body and was taken to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.


AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Two people are in jail and one more suspect is still at large after a man was hurt in a Sunday afternoon shooting, Amarillo police said Monday.

According to a news release, at 1:08 p.m., offices were called to the parking lot in the 1000 block of southwest 10th Avenue on a shooting.

A 20-year-old man had been shot in the upper body and was taken to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Witnesses said the suspect vehicle was a white Dodge Charger occupied by a white female and two black males.

The suspect vehicle was later found in the 4000 block of northeast 26th Avenue and Sydney Short, 19, and Javonne Demontre Mayes, 18, were arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Potter County Detention Center.

The third suspect has not been found at this time.
