Granville Riddle escaped from Potter County Jail on 2-24-1989 while attending a substance abuse class in the dining room.

He was recaptured on 2-27-89 20 miles north of Amarillo on Highway 36. He had a .22 caliber rifle in his possession. The gun was traced to a residence Riddle had burglarized during his flight.
