Wed, 10 Jun 2015 19:06:16 GMT — Family Dollar shoplifters injured two clerks while making their escape. Police are still looking for the suspects and the Chevy Tahoe.
At 11:49 a.m. on June 10, officers were dispatched to the Family Dollar in the 800 block of Martin Road on a reported strong arm robbery.
It was determined that a Hispanic male and Hispanic female had filled a 30 gallon plastic tub, with unknown quantity of items, and left without paying for them.
While they were exiting the store, they pushed a female clerk who was in the doorway, causing a slight injury to her arm.
Another female clerk ran from the store in an attempt to get the license plate number of the Chevy Tahoe.
The driver backed away from the and struck the second clerk in the hip area, causing injury.
The driver was another Hispanic male, but not one of the shoplifters.
It was reported that there were several children inside the vehicle. The Tahoe was last seen fleeing westbound on Amarillo Blvd.
Both clerks refused treatment at the scene. It's believed that the driver of the vehicle was aware that the second clerk was behind the vehicle when he backed up due to a comment made by the other two. The only description given of the two main suspects were that they were heavyset.
